Bazaar Happenings at Barrett

Saturday’s annual “Barrett Bazaar” was attended by hundreds of families who soaked up the sun and enjoyed a variety of games, crafts and other activities. This year’s Bazaar had a “boardwalk” theme, including a 300-foot boardwalk, with each board hand-painted by Charles Barrett Elementary School students. In addition, more than 1,000 prizes were handed out.

“We wanted to have a little something for everyone, so in addition to the hand painted boardwalk, we added a dunk tank, pony rides, more games, different food, and a live band and really tried to involve our surrounding community. We had a great day and think everyone in attendance was pleased with the event,” said John Schmidt, Charles Barrett PTA member and co-chairman of the event.

Proceeds from the Barrett Bazaar go to the Charles Barrett PTA and are used to provide after-school programs like hands-on science and foreign language, the school play, and items from the teachers’ wish list, directly benefitting Charles Barrett students.
