The Greater Chesapeake & Potomac (GC&P) Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross is offering a weekly raffle for $100 worth of free gas. Every participant at any regional blood donation center or blood drive will automatically be entered into a raffle for the free gas card. All eligible donors are encouraged to call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to schedule a blood donation appointment and show up for their chance to win $100 in free gas.

Donors must be in generally good health; be at least 17 years of age; weigh no less than 110 pounds; have not received a tattoo within the past year; and have not donated whole blood within the past 56 days.

The Loudoun HealthCare's Mobile Health Van visits the Senior Center at Cascades Marketplace, 21060 Whitfield Place, Sterling, the second and fourth Tuesdays each month, from 9:30 a.m.-noon, to take blood pressure and glucose testing along with other medical needs. Shenandoah University's Symposium on Aging: Roadmap to Vitality will take place Saturday, June 3, at the Health Professions Building, Winchester Medical Campus, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The symposium is a partnership of Shenandoah University's School of Continuing Education, Valley Health Senior Health Services, Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury, Loudoun County Area Agency on Aging, Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging, the Adult Care Center and Blue Ridge Hospice.

Designed to engage seniors, caregivers and family members, health-care providers, clergy, industry workers and policy makers for learning about current issues in aging well. Speakers include Dr. George Vaillant, author of "Aging Well: Surprising Guideposts to a Happier Life," and Emily Kimball, senior-age adventurer and motivational speaker. Registration fee $20 per person, includes lunch. Transportation from Loudoun County available for additional $4.25 via the county Parks, Recreation and Community Services. The Loudoun County CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder) parents support group will meet the second Tuesday of every month, from 7:15-8:30 p.m. SuccessLab Learning Centers is hosting the meetings and providing refreshments. SuccessLab is located at 20660 Ashburn Road in Old Town Ashburn near the fire station.

The purpose of the support group is to provide a place where parents can come to be heard, be understood and help each other with their struggles and also learn about the amazing qualities children with ADHD possess.
