Students from Stone Bridge High School's Future Business Leaders of America chapter (FBLA) will hold the fifth annual Warm-a-Life, coat drive to benefit the Community Holiday Coalition. Many of the students plan to use the student holidays Nov. 7 and 8 to collect coats in their neighborhood. Stone Bridge High School FBLA students are collecting coats and blankets, Nov. 1-13. Broad Run High School's Project Graduation committee is selling White House Christmas ornaments to support the drug- and alcohol-free party for graduating seniors of the 2006-2007 school year.

Vice chairman Bruce E. Tulloch (R-Potomac) has secured $10,000 in donations for the Potomac Falls High School Challenge Day Character Program. The money was donated by Inova Loudoun Hospital and a check was presented at the PFHS Back-to-School Night Sept. 18. The Challenge Day Character Program promotes self-acceptance and respect for others, motivating the participants to become positive forces in their schools and communities. Nancy Lasik, president of the Parent-Teacher Student Organization, and Kathy Lague, the vice president of programs for the PTSO, accepted the check on behalf of the entire PTSO, which will be funding the Challenge Day Character Program.
