Edison’s One Acts

This year, the Edison Theater Department was proud to begin its season with a collection of student directed one acts. There was a sense of urgent excitement as students bustled from one rehearsal to the next and directors eagerly instructed their casts as they prepared for their directorial premiers.

With 13 shows in all, Edison’s 2006 collection of one acts had plenty to offer, with everything from a parody of Tennessee William’s “The Glass Menagerie” in Mende Jo Wentzel’s one act “For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls,” to the self explanatory “Escape from Dracula’s Castle,” directed by David Woodall.

The performances were held on the Oct. 26, 27 and 28 at Thomas Edison High School.

“I’m really looking forward to opening night,” said Elizabeth Chenevey, director of the witty and chaotic one act "Shakespeare Unbound." “I can not wait to see how my first audience reacts!”
