Movie Screening. St. Mark's Lutheran Church hosts a showing of "An Inconvenient Truth" Sunday, Oct. 8 from 2-4 p.m., with speaker Dr. Peter Hildebrand providing a climate scientist's perspective on the movie. The Celebration Singers present a concert Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Springfield United Methodist Church, 7047 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield. * The 2nd annual "Pumpkin Patch" returns Saturday, Oct. 14-Oct. 31. Fundraising supports the England Mission Exchange. Pumpkins, corn stalks and gourds for sale. Movie night Oct. 27 with activities at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and Halloween classic cartoons at 6:30 p.m.

* Hearts and Hands Bazaar Saturday, Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. Features baked goods, pumpkin patch, crafters, silent auction and more.

Cranford United Methodist Women hosts their annual fall Ham and Oyster dinner to assist in children's missions Saturday, Oct. 21 from 4-7 p.m. at Cranford United Methodist Church, 9912 Old Colchester Road, Lorton.
