The second annual Making a Difference in Merrifield Fall Festival filled Luther Jackson Middle School with families Saturday from morning until late afternoon. Attractions included music, dancing, arts and crafts, police and firefighting vehicles and demonstrations, a basketball competition, at least three moon bounces, and more. The event was sponsored by Edens Avant, National Amusements and the Greater Merrifield Business Association and was scheduled to coincide with the kickoff of Volunteerfest, which culminates this Saturday — National Make a Difference Day — with volunteer opportunities all over the county.
