Wellspring Church welcomes Al Fuertes, a pastor and George Mason University instructor who works around the world in conflict resolution. He will share the spiritual inspiration and hope found in dialogue.

Wellspring meets at 10 a.m., Centreville Firehouse #17, 5856 Old Centreville Road. Sunday School for children meets during the worship hour. Following worship is a time of fellowship with fair-trade coffee and treats, and visitors are welcome.

Wellspring has two house-groups, and welcomes visitors to participate. The Arts and Spirituality group meets on Sunday afternoons, and a “Living the Questions” group meets in the evening for Bible study and discussion. Wellspring is thoughtful, prayerful, justice-seeking, and Open and Affirming to seekers of all backgrounds. Worship is informal.

Centreville Presbyterian Church is sponsoring SMASH CAMP (Summer Music, Arts and Sports with Him) July 9-13 from 9 a.m. to noon at the church, located at 15450 Lee Highway, Centreville.

Mount Olive Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School on Monday, July 9 to Friday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Liberty Middle School, 6801 Union Mill Road, Clifton. Call 703-830-8769.

The Ekoji Buddhist Temple, located at 6500 Lake Haven Lane, Fairfax Station, will hold its 26th annual Obon Festival Saturday, July 14 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Obon is a Buddhist observance that honors one’s ancestors and typically includes activities such as music, Bon-odori dancing, games and crafts, silent auction, traditional Japanese food dishes and Japanese Taiko drumming. Tours of the temple and Japanese meditation garden, and short lectures on Buddhism will also be held during the festival as well. Food and drinks (non-alcoholic) will be sold throughout the evening. St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Herndon will hold its Vacation Bible School, July 16-20. Children ages 2-1/2 (potty-trained) through rising sixth-graders are invited to attend during the week of July 16-20 from 9:30 a.m. to noon daily. The theme this year will be The Great Bible Reef Dive into God's Word! Cost is $20 per child for the week, with a maximum cost of $50 per family. King of Kings Lutheran Church is offering an Adult Vacation Bible School for those 21 years and older. Set aside Monday, July 23 through Thursday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The week will include Bible study, singing, crafts (Chrismon making), a service project, and more, concluding with a lunch each day. The cost will be $10 per day per person or $30 for the four days. Congregation Yad Shalom, located in Centreville, provides a variety of programs in a traditional format with a modern flair. Inquiries about participation in these activities are welcomed by the community.

Help with Hurts, Habits and Hang-Ups — Passion for Community in cooperation with New Life Christian Church is launching a new Recovery Connection Group for people suffering with various addictions and destructive and dysfunctional behaviors. New Life Christian Church is once again launching a Divorce Care Group which will meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 at Westfield High School (child care provided). Divorce Care is a video-based seminar group for people who are experiencing difficulty with their separation or divorce. Centreville United Methodist is hosting DivorceCare, which meets Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. at Centreville UMC. DivorceCare is a 13-week Christ-centered divorce recovery program which walks participants through the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of someone going through separation and divorce.
