Callahan Honored

Del. Vincent Callahan (R-34) has five months left in his Virginia House of Delegates seat, but in keeping with the old adage “there is no time like the present,” the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts did not wait to express appreciation for the contributions of the longstanding local legislator. Callahan’s record 40-year tenure was celebrated at a special tribute held in his honor on Friday, June 1 at Wolf Trap.

U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf (R-10) spoke at the event and commended Callahan for four decades of service to his state and local constituents. Dranesville District Supervisor Joan DuBois was also in attendance, as were several members of the General Assembly, including state Sen. Janet Howell (D-32), Del. Jim Scott (D-53), Del. Steve Shannon (D-35), Del. Vivian Watts (D-39), Del. Bob Brink (D-48) and Del. Adam Ebbin (D-49). Callahan announced his retirement in March of this year.

At Callahan’s request, all proceeds from the event were donated to the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts.
