Activities/interests/hobbies?

I enjoy taking walks with my family, bike riding, scuba diving and practicing medicine.

Favorite local restaurant or place in the community?

No single favorite, but my favorites include Jade Billow’s and Vince and Dominic’s Pizza. I also love going to Great Falls and the C&O Canal.

What are your community concerns? What are some ideas you have on ways to improve your community?

One of the main concerns I have for our community is the sedentary lifestyle that has become the norm for both children and adults. I would love to see an increase in physical education and outdoor activities in the school system as well as a push for families to do more walking.

What is the last book you read, the last movie you watched, and the last song you listened to?

The last book I read was "1-2-3 Magic Effective Discipline for Children 2-12" by Thomas W. Phelan, PhD. The last movie I watched was "Little Miss Sunshine." The last song I listened to was "Harvest" by Neil Young.

What brought you here?

My parents chose to raise their four boys in Potomac because of the outstanding public school system. I returned to the Potomac area because my wife and I love the variety of things to do here, including the many trails, community events, theaters, museums, restaurants and more.

What community "hidden treasure" do you think more people should know about?

Bicycle riding to Georgetown along the C&O Canal or Capital Crescent Trail.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you "grew up?"

I always wanted to be a pediatrician.

If you were to take a road trip anywhere right now, where would you go?

The beach!

Personal goals?

In addition to raising my own happy and healthy children, I hope to help other families do the same through my unique pediatric practice - Hirsch Pediatrics.

Why did you choose the Potomac area to start your business in?

My wife and I chose to return to the D.C. area because of the many things to do here and the great opportunities for children. I chose to open my office in Rockville because it is growing area with many young families looking for a new kind of pediatrician’s office that is convenient, responsive and enjoyable to visit.

How did attending Churchill help you in life?

Attending Churchill taught me the importance of working hard to achieve my goals and gave me the foundation to pursue my dream of becoming a pediatrician.
