The Chapel at Leisure World, located at Leisure World in Lansdowne, celebrated its first anniversary Sunday, Oct. 7. This worshipping community of Galilee United Methodist Church in Sterling, began meeting Oct. 8, 2006. At the June 2007 United Methodist Annual Conference, Rev. Matthew Sergent was appointed full-time pastor; and the chapel has grown in attendance and expanded its offerings of Bible study, classes and congregational care.
The Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael of the Unitarian Universalists of Sterling will offer a "Building Your Own Theology" course on eight Wednesday evenings from through early December. The course draws on the concept of the "Moral Compass," identifying eight modes of ethical decision-making. Case studies and conversation will allow for the exploration of the processes, values and theologies that we rely on to make difficult moral and ethical decisions.
