The Vienna Host Lions Club, in partnership with the local Vienna Safeway, has organized the third annual Parking Lot Picnic to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer awareness.

This event will be held in the parking lot of the Maple Avenue Safeway, on Saturday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs and beverages for the event are donated by the Safeway, and the cooking is provided by the local Lions Club members.

Photography exhibit by members of the Vienna Photographic Society is at the Fairfax County Government Center through Saturday, Sept. 22. The exhibit is hung on the third floor, and all photos are for sale. Directions to the Government Center can be found at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/maps/locatMap.htm.

“Mix It Up!” a mixed media show open to all local artists, will be held at the Vienna Art Center, 115 Pleasant St., N.W., through Saturday, Sept. 29, with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31. The Vienna Arts Society Gallery in the Village Green Shopping Center is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a scrapbooking weekend. The event will be held Friday, Sept. 28, 6 p.m.-midnight and Saturday, Sept. 29, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. in the hall at the fire department, 400 Center St. S, Vienna.

Vendors will be on-site to allow participants to purchase supplies or get advice. Registration fee includes space for the entire time, lunch on Saturday, coffee, tea, and lemonade, and a goody bag. Dinner will be available for purchase each night, or pre-purchase a dinner ticket good for both nights. Register by Aug. 1 and the fee is $45, $50 by Sept. 1, and $55 after Sept. 1. The Vienna Woman’s Club will hold its 47th annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Vienna Community Center. Funds raised are used for college scholarships for graduating high school seniors living in Vienna’s zip codes.
