In the print edition of this week’s Ashburn Connection [Dec. 3-9, 2008], Kevin Sandersen is the Broad Run High football player pictured on the cover page. Sandersen, a senior defensive end, made a pivotal punt block in the Spartans’ 24-12 Virginia State AA semifinals playoff win over visiting Chancellor High (Fredericksburg) last Saturday afternoon. The game-changing play propelled Broad Run to the win and advanced the Spartans to this Saturday’s state title game where it will play Amherst County in Lynchburg.
