The Fairfax County History Commission in conjunction with the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning will hold community meetings on the proposed countywide Heritage Resources Comprehensive Plan Amendment.

The meeting for this area will be Wednesday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. at Frying Pan Park Visitor Center, 2739 West Ox Road, Herndon. Representatives from the History Commission and the Department of Planning and Zoning will provide information, answer questions and solicit public comment on the proposed plan amendment. The doors will open half an hour before each meeting. Display maps with photographs will be on exhibit.

The Reston-Herndon Toastmasters Club is holding an Open House meeting with refreshments Wednesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Herndon’s Neighborhood Resource Center Room C, 1086 Elden St. Come learn how Toastmasters can help improve communication and leadership skills.

The MOMS Club of Herndon will be holding an Open House and Healthy Families Expo on Thursday, March 27, 10-11:30 A.M. at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 432 Van Buren St., Herndon. We encourage all Herndon-area stay at home mothers to join us to meet other at-home mothers and to speak with a variety of health professionals dedicated to the well being of families.

The Expo will include: nutritionist, La Leche League representative, pediatric dentist, postpartum doula, chiropractor, ophthalmologist, speech/language pathologist, certified labor support doula, certified Bradley Method instructor, midwife, thermal imaging representative, ChildFind of Fairfax County, and a psychotherapist. Children are encouraged and welcome to attend. Refreshments will be available.

Area students are featured in the exhibition Emerging Visions: Adolescent Self-Portraiture at Greater Reston Arts Center. Students from Langston Hughes Middle, South Lakes High School, Herndon Middle and Herndon High are included in this celebration of Youth Art Month.
