Summer Camps

The NOVA Youth Flag Football League will be holding its Annual NFL Flag Football Summer Camp the weeks of June 23-27 and Aug. 4-8 at the Mills Recreation Fields in Ashburn Village. The camp is open to children ages 6-14 and participants can attend one or both weeks of camps. Previous years camps have been popular so demand for Summer Camp 2008 is expected to be high. The Centreville High School field hockey staff and the Wildcat Boosters will be hosting their annual field hockey camp for rising 4th to 9th graders. The camp is open to rising 7th graders through rising 12th grader girls interested in developing their basketball skills. Chantilly High School will hold its boys and girls basketball camps this June and July. There will be four sessions for the boys camp: July 7-11, July 14-18, July 21-22 and July 28- Aug. 1. There will be two sessions for the girls camp: June 23 to July 27 and June 30 to July 3. The cost for both will be $130. Chantilly High School will hold its field hockey and girls lacrosse camps from July 7 to July 11. The camp will be for beginners and intermediates from ages 6 to 17. The field hockey camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The lacrosse camp will be from 12:30 p.m. from 3 p.m. Each camp will cost $120. The price to attend both camps will be $200. Westfield High School boys basketball is holding three weeks of summer basketball fun. The first session will be held from June 30 to July 3 and will cost $130. The second session will be held from July 14-18 and will cost $140. The third session will be held from July 28 to Aug. 1 and will cost $140. The Westfield girls basketball staff will host its 2008 summer basketball camp in two sessions this summer. The Bulldogs’ Elite Camp will be held from July 7 to July 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The age range for the Elite Camp will be ages 10 to 15. The second session will be from July 21- 25 at 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The age range for the second session will be from ages 8 to 15. Campers are welcome to attend both sessions. Each camper will receive a complimentary tee shirt. The first 250 registrants will receive a complimentary camp basketball. Both camps will cost $140. The Westfield High School Athletic Boosters is sponsoring the 8th Annual Bulldog Field Hockey Camp from July 14 to July 17 at the WHS field hockey field. The camp is for rising 4th graders to rising 9th graders. All skill levels are welcome. The Northern Virginia Region Cheer Coaches Association will hold its annual summer cheerleading camp in three sessions. On July 12, the NVRCCA camp will be at Centreville High School. South County Athletic Boosters present a Summer ‘Real’ Girls Lacrosse Camp from June 22 to June 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. First graders through junior varsity-level players are welcome. At the camp, rookies will learn solid basic skills and positioning in game-like situations. The West Springfield High School boys basketball program will be holding three weeks of basketball camps this summer. The first week – the “offensive camp” – will run from June 30 to July 3 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and will cost $100. Hayfield High School will hold its 2008 summer boys basketball camp in three sessions starting June 23. The first session will be held from June 23 from June 28. The second session will be from June 30 to July 3. The third session will be from July 7 to July 15. Each session will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Sessions one and three will cost $175 for walk-ins and $165 for early registration. Session two will cost $140 for walk-ins and $125 for early registration. The basketball camp will emphasize the development of fundamental basketball skills. The Oakton High School Boosters presents the 2008 Oakton Cougar Field Hockey/Girls Lacrosse Camp for ages 8 to 18.
