Cascades Technologies Inc., a federal government professional consulting firm, was chosen to provide a variety of web-based services in support of the Department of Defense's Blast Injury Research Program. Cascades Technologies will support Phase 3 of the project, where they will design, develop and maintain databases for collecting, managing and analyzing blast injury research program data from summaries of ongoing clinical research to program budget data and much more.

Command Information, provider of next generation network services, was selected by Fluke Networks to provide support for its Defense Information Systems Agency Joint Interoperability Test Command certification process. Command Information will develop a gap analysis and test plan, as well as provide strategic direction and onsite testing support for the Internet Protocol version 6 capabilities in Fluke Networks’ OptiView product suite.

Heidi Kallett, owner of The Dandelion Patch, a fine stationery store in Reston, recently received a number of prestigious local, national and international accolades. In September, Kallett was awarded the national Crème de la Crème Best of the Best Wedding Professional Award at the annual Wedding Merchants Business Academy Convention in Phoenix, Ariz. and was recognized by the Washington Business Journal as a Women Who Mean Business - Raising Star at their Awards Dinner in November. Kallett was also honored as a Finalist for an international Stevie Award in the Best Entrepreneur, Service Business, Up to 100 Employees category.

Guident Technologies, an integrator of business intelligence, management consulting, and systems engineering services to the government and commercial marketplaces, announced the hiring of Timothy Clements as Senior Director of its Systems Engineering division. In this role, Clements is responsible for building and growing the division through strategic planning and business development initiatives. He will develop go-to-market strategies, solutions, and methodologies, as well as establish and manage a team of experienced systems engineering professionals.

Guident Technologies announced that it was awarded a contract by the Department of Homeland Security to establish a department-wide decision support system. The new system will enable improved visibility into project level issues, better reporting capabilities, and enhanced oversight/control over major investments across DHS. The contract is for one base year with one option year, and has a potential value of $2.5 million.

Guident Technologies also announced that it was recognized again for outstanding growth by Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and national publications. The acknowledgements are a result of Guident’s continued success/expansion in the public and private sector marketplaces.

The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area approved the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation to participate in the 2008 Combined Federal Campaign. The CFCNCA assigned designation number 27090 to the NWFCU Foundation.

The Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation (NWFCU) donated $5,000 to Homes for our Troops, a nonprofit group committed to assisting Servicemen and Women who have returned home with disabilities and injuries.
