Former Episcopal High School running back Tim Hightower helped lead the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl last weekend. Hightower had just 33 yards in the Cardinals’ 32-25 NFC Championship game victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday, but played a pivotal role the week prior in the NFC divisional round, picking up 76 yards in a 33-13 pounding of the Carolina Panthers.
Hightower, a Waldorf, Md. native, starred for Episcopal between 2000 and 2003 before a successful career at Richmond, where as a two-year starter, he set school records with 4,448 all-purpose yards and 39 touchdowns.
While with the Maroon, Hightower earned All-State honors as a junior and senior and was named team MVP and first-team All-I.A.C those two seasons. He also served as team captain.
In addition to football, Hightower starred on the basketball and track teams and was a four-time honor roll student. He also served as chairman of the Spectrum Club, a diversity organization, during his final two years of high school.
