Alexandria Little League, T.C. Williams basketball camp, and more

<b>Area Little Leaguers Win Title</b>

The Alexandria Potomac Little League's 8-10 Year old squad defeated West Springfield, 12-10, on Sunday, June 28 at Gardziel Field in Dumfries, Va. to become 'Champions' of 2009 Virginia District 9 Fun Tournament.

<b>T.C. Williams Basketball Camp</b>

The T.C. Williams boys’ basketball program and coach Julian King, along with One on One Basketball will be holding two sessions of the T.C. Williams Basketball Camp this summer. The camp will take place at T.C. Williams High School, with the second session scheduled for July 13-17. Boys and girls ages 6-17 are welcome to sign up. Alexandria Department of Recreation participants will receive a reduced camp fee. Members of the Titan boys’ basketball team, which has won the past four Northern Region championships and the state title in 2008, will be counselors. <b>Divas Make Title Game</b>

The D.C. Divas of the Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL), who feature nine players from Northern Virginia and three from Alexandria, advanced to the conference championship after defeating the Pittsburgh Passion, 27-17, last weekend. The Divas travel to Boston to face the Boston Militia on July 11 in the conference championship, with a spot in the July 25th IWFL Championship on the line.

The Divas completed their ninth regular season twos week ago with a 63-0 win over the Philadelphia Firebirds last week. The Divas finished the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record. It was the franchise’s sixth division title in seven years, and this year the team outscored its opposition by 305-46.
