Episcopal Wins Private School Golf Title

It was a three-peat for Episcopal High School in the 2010 Alexandria Private School Golf Championship. Junior Bailey Patrick led the Maroon to their third straight city title with a 1-under 69 at Mount Vernon Country Club on May 13. Bishop Ireton was second and St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes finished third in the three-team event.

Patrick had five birdies on the demanding Mount Vernon track and won individual medalist honors by two shots over Ireton’s Steven Porter.

"A double bogey on 17 was the only bad news on my round," Patrick said afterward. "I had fun the rest of the time."

"This is the best team we have had in the past 10 years," Episcopal coach Whit Morgan said. "Bailey and our other co-captain, Adam Stowe, helped the team to a 10-1 record in conference play, and our wins against Woodbury Forest, Landon, and Paul VI were the high points."

Episcopal finished fourth in the Interstate Athletic Conference tournament on April 27.
