Faith Notes, Sept. 9

ADAMS 9th Annual Interfaith Peace Gathering and Law Enforcement Appreciation event will be 5:30-9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the ADAMS Main Center Mosque, 46903 Sugarland Road in Sterling. This in remembrance of the victims of the World Trade Center and Pentagon 9/11 attacks. Interfaith groups will be represented and speaking, ADAMS will honor local police and fire departments for their service and local government officials will attend.

United Christian Parish, 11508 North Shore Drive in Reston, presents the Fall and Spring Circles of Support, beginning 7 p.m. on Sept. 15. The meetings are held for 10 weeks and are led by a licensed professional counselor and a thanatologist to help those trying to regain equilibrium when hit with a life changing loss or grief. Former Space Shuttle Astronaut Tom Jones, Phd. will speak on "Reaching the Heavens," an astronaut's human and spiritual experiences during spaceflight, and whether America has a future in space exploration.
