Another Title for Mount Vernon Golfers

For the 10th time in the past 12 years, golfers at Mount Vernon Country Club have won the Women’s District of Columbia Golf Association team championship. Every spring, the association, founded in 1924, sponsors the area’s most competitive team play for women. Mount Vernon, playing in the top division of the league, clinched the title on June 8.

"Six players team up for each match," said Mount Vernon captain Debbie Simpson. "And any combination works. We all play well together."

Among the six who play most of the matches, there is a political consultant, FBI special agent, lawyer, health insurance executive, software engineer and a Federal Reserve financial analyst. All juggle their schedules in order to participate in the weekly league play.
