Bomb Scare at Herndon Business

On Thursday, July 26 at approximately 11 a.m., an unknown female confronted a teller at the Cambio de Cheque, located at 1100 Elden Street, Suite F, in Herndon and demanded money. The female suspect produced a note that said a bomb was located in the lobby of the business and that another bomb was located in the parking lot. The female then left the scene.

The Herndon Police Department responded and summoned the Fairfax County Police Bomb Squad. Surrounding businesses were evacuated and surrounding roads were temporarily closed while a bomb search was conducted. A tote bag was located in the lobby of the building, but it did not contain a bomb.

The suspect is described as female, with dark complexion, 30-40 years of age, wearing a purple headband and a red jacket. The police investigation is continuing, and anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Herndon Police Department at 703-435-6846.
