McDonald’s Announces 2012 Hispanic Scholarship Program

The McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C., in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund (HCF), will be honoring exceptional Hispanic students in the Greater Washington, D.C., area with the 3rd Annual McDonald’s Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Program. By visiting http://scholarships.hispanicfund.org, eligible students can download an application for the $1,500 scholarship prize. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, March 1.

Local McDonald’s franchisees will award $21,000 in scholarships this year to deserving students. Fourteen student honorees will each receive a $1,500 scholarship to the U.S. college or university of their choice.

Students selected will have demonstrated leadership, character, exceptional scholastic skills, and volunteerism. The scholarship program is open to high school seniors who are pursuing any undergraduate major in Fall 2012 and reside within the Greater Washington, D.C., area - including the District of Columbia and portions of Maryland, Northern Virginia, and West Virginia. All applicants must be U.S. citizens and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
