Summer Concert Season Begins at Lubber Run

— The Lubber Run Amphitheater free summer performance schedule begins Friday, June 15, at 8 p.m. with Mary Ann Redmond. The singer kicked off last year's abbreviated Lubber Run program schedule and she's coming back to open a full summer season at Lubber Run which will present 22 performances through Aug. 4.

With new retaining walls and rehabilitated dressing rooms, the amphitheater will offer theatrical as well as musical programs, including Shakespeare's “As You Like It” and Hexagon's political satire.

Live music ranging from indie/pop and folk to blues/jazz and old-time string band will be featured along with special weeknight and 6 p.m. Sunday performances by popular community and cultural groups such as the Arlingtones, the Potomac Harmony Chorus and the Arlington Community Band.

The Lubber Run Amphitheater will celebrate opening night on June 15.

The legendary 9-piece DC jazz ensemble, The Rumba Club, will cap the first weekend program Saturday, June 16 at 8 p.m.
