To the Editor:
The bills that didn't pass listed by H. Jay Spiegel ("Truly Representative?" March 1-7, 2012) made me proud to have a delegate who is brave enough to depart from the "mainstream" in Richmond. Virginia needs every one of the things Delegate Surovell voted for, and it's a shame more legislators didn't recognize that. Raise the gas tax? Reinstate a very limited estate tax? Repeal tax credits to the coal industry? Of course. These are part of a realistic agenda, not a radical one. I am glad that Scott Surovell stands up for what is right, no matter which way the wind is blowing.
