Herndon Officer Completes Crime Scene Course

The Herndon Police Department announces the graduation of Officer E. Brian Hamilton from the 81st Session of the Virginia Forensic Science Academy. Hamilton successfully completed the nine-week course of study on April 13.

The Virginia Forensic Science Academy provides training to highly qualified law enforcement crime scene specialists. Students learn to recognize, document, collect and preserve physical evidence at crime scenes, and become familiar with the capabilities and limitations of the modern forensic laboratory in examining materials which can be collected as evidence in criminal cases.

Hamilton is a 10-year veteran of the force and is currently assigned to the department’s Patrol Section.
