Driver Arrested In Hit and Run

Detectives have seized the suspect vehicle believed to be involved in what has been determined to be a fatal case of road rage. The driver of that vehicle is a 32-year-old resident on John Paul Drive in Alexandria, who has been arrested and charged with felony hit and run. The suspect vehicle is a black, 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer and was located in southwest Washington, D.C.

Detectives praised the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., as well as the public, for their assistance in this investigation.

The victim in the May 4 incident has been identified as Shelinda Delores Arrington, 21, of the 3300 block of Lockheed Boulevard. She was found unconscious on Harrison Lane around 11:30 a.m.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled that the cause of Arrington’s death was a crush injury. The manner of death was determined to be that the victim was run over by a motor vehicle.
