— Authors Susan Roth and Karen Leggett Abouraya celebrated their children's book about the Egyptian revolution, “Hands Around the Library,” with the students at Burgundy Farm Country Day School on Thursday, Sept. 13. In the morning, the authors hosted a Skype session between the school’s 4th and 5th Grade students and a handful of Egyptian students ages 9 through 11. They connected over shared interests like pizza, pets and Disney, and they discussed their different ideas about and experiences with freedom and democracy. Afterwards, the authors led all of the students — junior kindergarten through 8th grade — in an art project through which they created paper dolls to hold hands and promote peace.
