Military Notes

— Army Cadet Hannah K. Martins has received the George C. Marshall Award during an awards ceremony at the Marshall Center, Virginia Military Institute in Lexington. The award is named in the honor of General of the Army George C. Marshall, who served in World War II as the Army Chief of Staff and in the post-war era as secretary of state and secretary of defense. The cadet is a student at Princeton University, N.J. Martins is the daughter of Mark and Katherine Martins of Annandale, and granddaughter of Sadie Martins of Alexandria. She graduated in 2009 from Woodson High School, Fairfax.

Marine Corps Pvt. Adrian Padilla, son of Lilia Crisostomo of Alexandria, and Roberto Padilla, of Alexandria, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. Padilla is a 2012 graduate of T. C. William High School.

Navy Seaman Thomas Carroll, son of Ann T. Carroll of Alexandria and Lance S. Carroll, of Springfield recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Carroll is a 2005 graduate of Marine Military Academy of Harlingen, Texas.

Army Pvt. Aimee L. Crawford has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Crawford is the daughter of Janice Crawford of Virginia Beach, and Floyd Crawford of Alexandria. She is a 2012 graduate of Salem High School, Virginia Beach.

Air Force Airman Carlos H. Diaz graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Diaz is the son of Marixa Soriano of Alexandria and Alexander Diaz of Oxon Hill, Md. He is a 2012 graduate of Oxon Hill High School, Md.

Rayms-Keller, son of Diane Keller of Alexandria, and Alfaredo Rayms-Keller, of Fredericksburg, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C. Rayms-Keller is a 2012 graduate of Chancellor High School of Fredericksburg.

Marine Corps Pvt. Patricia V. Quinteros, daughter of Tula Quinteros of Alexandria, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C. Quinteros is a 2012 graduate of T. C. Williams High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Kyle W. Roberts, nephew of Sheryl Sims of Alexandria, graduated from recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Roberts is a 2011 graduate of Chancellor High School of Fredericksburg.

Army Reserve Pvt. Malik X. Iriarte has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Iriarte is a 2012 graduate of Mount Vernon High School.

Army Reserve Pvt. Morris L. Smith II has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Smith is the son of Monique Smith of Alexandria and a 2009 graduate of Moore High School, Okla.

Army Spec. Evan Greco has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Greco is the son of Christine Greco of Alexandria, and Adam Greco of Mays Landing, N.J. He is a 2007 graduate of St. Josephs High School, Hammonton, N.J. He received a bachelor's degree in 2011 from Marymount University, Alexandria.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Juan C. Guzman, son of Cesar B. Guzman, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Guzman is a 2007 graduate of T.C. Williams High School.

Randolph Macon Academy recognized Cadet Captain Anastasia C.Voellm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick R. Voellm of Alexandria, during the Spring Family Weekend parade for superior performance in Air Force JROTC. Anastasia received the Veterans of Foreign Wars Award. Anastasia is a senior at the Academy.
