Police Charge Local Man With Burglary

Fairfax County police have charged a Fairfax man with burglary and destruction of property. He is Monte Tobias Moyer, 27, of Aristotle Drive. Police responded to a home in the 11300 block of Aristotle Drive on Tuesday, April 30, shortly before 9 a.m., for a report of a break-in there.

A lookout was broadcast by one of the officers while additional officers responded to the area. Police found and detained a person matching the culprit’s description, acting in a suspicious manner, not far from that home. Moyer was subsequently identified as the alleged burglar.

Police say the homeowner initially saw Moyer standing outside his front door. A short time later, he was reportedly seen standing in the victim’s kitchen. The victim confronted Moyer and, as he fled, Moyer ran through a closed glass door, shattering the glass as he exited. Following his arrest, he was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
