To the Editor:
Things didn't go the way she wanted. The "wrong" candidate was endorsed. Hell to pay. A petulant state senator stamps her foot, threatening retribution.
The respected bipartisan Northern Virginia Technology Council's TechPAC endorsed Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli for governor over his "uninformed and superficial" opponent. This simply won't do. Up jumps Janet Howell to issue thuggish threats. This is not the right endorsement. Change your decision or else, she tried strong-arming the TechPAC leaders.
Or else what? "I urge you to stop any endorsement of Cuccinelli. ... The response will be frigid and doors will be closed. Achieving the goals of NVTC will be difficult to impossible."
Of course, undignified bulldozing tactics (disregard for Senate rules, hyper-partisan redistricting) are not something with which Janet "bill-killer" Howell is unfamiliar. Doesn't seem like we can look forward to much bipartisan cooperation in the next Senate from this quarter!
