Much To Do at Potomac Community Center

This is Montgomery County’s busiest community center, providing a variety of recreation activities for all ages such as open gym, arts and crafts, exercise/leisure classes, group support meetings and socials, senior adult activities through the Potomac neighborhood, senior program, area and county-wide sports programs, summer camps, programs for individuals with special needs, children and adult holiday parties, volunteer opportunities and more. Facilities include a gymnasium, exercise room, meeting rooms, art room, lounge area, community room and social hall. The outdoor area includes two baseball fields and an in-line hockey rink, and lighted basketball and tennis courts. The center offers table tennis, billiards and foosball, a gymnasium, weight room, social room, meeting rooms, and hundreds of classes through the Montgomery County Recreation Department. The Montgomery County Recreation Department, along with the Friends of the PCC, Inc. is working to renovate and reopen the outside inline rink for children and adults with special needs. The projected opening is slated for fall. The Friends of the PCC, Inc. is a nonprofit organization which works in conjunction with the Montgomery County Recreation Dept. to support the wide array of activities offered by the PCC as well as raise monies for the center. The board is comprised of volunteers who strongly support the mission of the center.

INSIDER’S TIP: The PCC will be hosting an outdoor family movie night on Sept. 26. Additional information will be forthcoming. Parents with children in grades three to six, can register them now for Club Friday. Club Friday which began in 1991 is a fun-filled supervised evening of different activities. Club Friday will meet at PCC from Oct 10-March 13 ( no program Nov. 28, Dec. 19,26) from 7-9 p.m. There are just a little more than 400 members, and the slots are always filled. The cost is $85 per participant (And volunteers are always needed.)

Additionally, After Hours is also held once a month for children in grades six through eight. More information on After Hours will be available shortly.
