Supervisor Pat Herrity (R-Springfield) was honored Jan. 11 by the Fairfax County Federation of Teachers (FCFT). He received the organization’s 2013 President's Award for “consistent advocacy, proactive communications and support of (FCPS teachers) over the past year.”
Pleased by the recognition, Herrity said, “Teachers are the lifeblood of our schools. Since I took office, I have worked to focus our resources into the classrooms to help our teachers and our kids and to get the regulatory burden off of teachers so they can teach. I am honored to receive this award for supporting our teachers.”
