Arlington Brief: Parkway Repairs Underway

The National Park Service has begun repairs on the George Washington Memorial Parkway from I-395 to the Reagan National Airport in both north and south bound lanes. The work includes associated ramps to the 14th Street Bridge, off and onto the parkway. Lane closures are expected to cause traffic delays.

Single lane closures will occur during non- rush hours between 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Motorists can expect two lane closures both north and southbound to occur at night where there are three lanes between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. A minimum of one lane will remain open in both the northbound and southbound lanes at all times.

A field office trailer will be placed in the Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary parking lot. This trailer will decrease the number of parking spaces available for the public.

The project is expected to be completed in mid-December 2015.
