Arlington: McEntee Honored

Arlington resident Christine (Chris) McEntee, executive director and CEO of the American Geophysical Union, has been honored by CEO Update as the 2016 Professional Society CEO of the Year. McEntee was recognized, along with awardees for Trade Association CEO of the Year and Association Lobbyist of the Year, at the 2016 Association Leadership Awards held on Sept. 22 in Washington, D.C. The awards recognize excellence in leadership of trade associations and professional societies.

McEntee has more than 25 years of experience as an association leader. McEntee joined AGU in 2010 after serving as CEO and executive vice president of the American Institute of Architects; CEO of the American College of Cardiology and its Foundation; and executive vice president for the American Hospital Association. She began her association career at the American Association of Retired Persons after working as clinical nurse for several years.
