‘Most Valuable Sponsor’ Named

The Harvey Family of Fort Hunt hit a 62-year milestone as a sponsor of Fort Hunt Little League. Fort Hunt Little League was established in 1956 and the Harvey family was among its first sponsors. What sets the Harvey family apart has been their continuing dedication to sponsor Fort Hunt Little League each year, first in the name of the family and later as Hollin Hall Automotive, the service station at the hub of Fort Hunt community life bought by patriarch Leon Harvey and his wife Ruth Ann in 1961.

The Fort Hunt Little League, at its 2017 Opening Day Ceremony on April 1, presented the Harvey family with a Certificate of Appreciation as “Most Valuable Sponsor” to recognize this achievement. Representing the family and receiving the award was Jim Harvey, one of seven children of Leon and Ruth Ann.
