Letter to the Editor: Admiring Students' Works

Regarding the student talent edition:

What a brilliant idea it was to showcase the art and writings of our community’s young students in the Dec. 28, 2016 edition of the Almanac. The array of talent among these learners is stunning.

One small editorial item spoke to me — the piece about traffic in Potomac by 11-year-old Chase Pantezzi who noted that “drivers on the one lane bridge next to Glen Road do not know what they are doing … jams by the bridge go all the way the hill … they really should widen it.”

Amen to that, Chase. Widening it won’t wreck or even diminish the beauty of the magnificent glen environment but will cut the personal environmental terror factor when we navigate that stretch. Meanwhile, I hope the art edition is a feature the Almanac will repeat annually, if not more often and perhaps, include photos of some three-dimensional works as well.
