Crime Report: The following incidents were reported by the Alexandria Police Department.

SUNDAY, MARCH 19

  • The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 5400 block of Duke Street. Three suspects in masks brandished a firearm and stole cash from a business. There were no injuries.

  • The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a pedestrian struck crash in the 200 block of W Glebe Road. A child was struck by a car and has serious injuries. The car stayed on scene.

  • The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a weapon violation in the 6200 block of Duke Street. A security guard fired gun in the air at a fleeing larceny suspect armed with a knife. There were no injuries.

SATURDAY, MARCH 18

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 500 block of Slaters Lane. Two suspects brandished a firearm, and stole keys and a vehicle from the victim. There were no injuries. A 2010 white Nissan Ultima was stolen.

THURSDAY, MARCH 9

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 400 block of N. Armistead Street. The suspect brandished a firearm and stole belongings and cash. The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

TUESDAY, MARCH 7

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a felonious assault in the 4200 block of Duke Street. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to a local hospital.

FRIDAY, MARCH 3

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 1200 block of Madison Street. Two suspects brandished a firearm and stole cash from the victim; there were no injuries.

MONDAY, FEB. 27

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 4700 block of Kenmore Avenue. A suspect brandished a firearm and stole cash; there were no injuries.

FRIDAY, FEB. 24

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 4500 block of Duke Street. A 16-year-old robbed a 14-year-old of a phone and was then arrested. There were no injuries.

FRIDAY, Feb. 24

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a felonious assault in the 5000 block of Seminary Road. The victim came to the area to meet someone from an online post. He was then injured on the arm during a robbery attempt and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 22

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a carjacking in the 400 block of S. Whiting Street. A suspect implied a weapon as victim attempted to enter her car and drove away in the vehicle. There are no injuries. A 2016 silver Toyota Rav4 was stolen.

SUNDAY, FEB. 19

  • The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a felonious assault in the 3800 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue. The victim was transported to the hospital, and the suspect was apprehended by officers. The victim and the suspect were known to each other.

  • The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 2900 block of Mainline Boulevard. Four suspects assaulted and robbed the victim in an apartment.

THURSDAY, FEB. 16

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery in the 3000 block of Duke Street. A suspect brandished a knife and stole a bottle of wine. Patrol officers apprehended the suspect.

SUNDAY, FEB. 12

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a commercial robbery of a take-out restaurant in the 5700 block of Edsall Road. A suspect brandished a firearm and stole cash. There were no injuries.

MONDAY, FEB. 6

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a bank robbery in the 3700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. A suspect passed note and received cash before fleeing. There were no injuries.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 1

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery at the intersection of N. Pickett Street and Holmes Run Parkway. Four suspects stole items from the victim after one suspect brandished a knife. There were no injuries.
