Reston — Reston Hospital Center at 1850 Town Center Parkway in Reston is a recipient of the Healthgrades 2018 Labor and Delivery Excellence Award for superior care of women during and after childbirth. The award puts Reston Hospital Center within the top 10 percent of the reported 1,043 hospitals evaluated by Healthgrades.
Healthgrades describes themselves as the leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals and each year the company analyzes the quality of care for women during and after childbirth. According to the Healthgrades website, the 2018 Labor and Delivery Excellence Award is based "on complication outcomes for live-born single births delivered via vaginal delivery and live-born single and twin births delivered via C-section."
Healthgrades reported, "Patients treated in hospitals receiving the Labor and Delivery Excellence Award had, on average, a 36.8 percent lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the Labor and Delivery Excellence Award." The company evaluated 1,043 eligible hospitals across 15 states and the District of Columbia from 2014 through 2016.

This is the second year in a row Reston Hospital Center has been recognized with both the Labor and Delivery Excellence Award and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence Award.
