Raindrops don't stop Santa Claus, who arrived promptly at 11 a.m. at Drew Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 15 for the Nauck Community Holiday Fellowship Event.

The kitchen had closed from the breakfast that started at 9:30 a.m. Discarded cartons of breakfast crumbs and sausages sat on tables alongside Christmas wrappings with children coloring and making crafts.

A long line of excited children curved across the gym floor waiting for a chance to sit on Santa's lap and whisper in his ear about their secret wish for Christmas. Officers from the Arlington County Police Department Community Outreach Division handed each child a toy before they reached Santa's lap and a peppermint candy cane after their visit with Santa. Red goodie bags filled with red and green wrapped chocolate candies sat on a table for grabbing on the way out the door.
