Crime Report: Sully District

The following incidents were reported by the Sully District Police Station.

APRIL 8

POSSESSION OF A STOLEN FIREARM/POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: Lee Road/Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, 04/05/19, 2:50 p.m. Officers were in the area checking for a car that was involved in a domestic dispute. The car was located and stopped after several traffic violations. Officers smelled marijuana and searched the car, finding marijuana along with a backpack that contained two semi-automatic guns and three loaded magazines. One of the guns was stolen from a recent burglary case. John Brian Thompson, 26, of Centreville, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Ajaratu Saramba Mansaray, 22, of Centreville, was charged with possession of marijuana and driving on a revoked license. No photo available.

APRIL 10

SUSPICIOUS EVENT

Lee Jackson Memorial Highway/Chantilly Road, 4/9/19, 6:19 a.m. A man approached a girl who was waiting for the school bus and asked questions about her age and where she was going. He asked her if she wanted to come with him. She refused and then boarded the school bus that just arrived. The man spoke in Spanish and is described as Hispanic, in his 40s, wearing a red T-shirt and black pants.

APRIL 16

BURGLARY

5501 Union Mill Road (Shell Gas Station), 4/15/19 1:15 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious noise and men running from the gas station. Officers found the door had been shattered and property was taken.

APRIL 19

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

6330 Multiplex Drive (Exxon), 4/18/19, 3:57 a.m. Officers went to the Exxon for an alarm and found the front door shattered. Video surveillance was reviewed, and two juveniles were identified. Officers found the two juveniles at their residence and recovered stolen property. Both juveniles were arrested and charged with grand larceny, burglary and destruction of property.
