Neil Chatterjee, a Herndon resident of more than a decade and Chairman of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), rang the New York Stock Exchange opening bell Dec. 2 – one of the most famous views of the NYSE that marks the start of the energy trading day there.

Chairman Chatterjee and his wife, Rebecca, have been active in local community activities in Northern Virginia, volunteering with the Herndon-area LINK food drive; the Adopt A Highway program; The Campagna Center, Alexandria’s largest nonprofit organization; FCA Nova; Martha’s Table; Good for Neighbors Herndon; and Kate’s Cause. Chairman Chatterjee also coaches his three children’s soccer, basketball, baseball and girls’ ice hockey teams and volunteers with their schools’ PTAs.
