Some 24 artists displayed their work at the annual Spring Art Fest 2019, which was sponsored by Great Falls Studios on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5, 2019. The event featured eight artists showing at the Great Falls Village Centre, 10 at the Grange and six at the Old School House – three of whom have never shown before. The various media included painting, pottery, photography, printing, woodcarving, jewelry, weaving and fabric.

According to Linda Jones, President of Great Falls Studios: “The wonderful thing about these events is we meet people in the community who are also artists who would like to join, so this is an opportunity for us to meet the people who live in Great Falls. There was a cartoonist here earlier today who might join us, and a painter who just moved from Turkey who just asked to join us.”

She continued: “So it’s not just a matter of us selling our art, although it’s wonderful that people fall in love with our art and decide that they want to have it in their home; but it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to share what we love doing with the community.”

Great Falls Studios was founded 15 years ago by Laura Nichols when three artists discussed the opportunity to develop a group like this around her kitchen table; it now has 110 artist members. To be a member, you have to live or create art in Great Falls. For more information, visit www.greatfallsstudios.com.
