Week in McLean: Man Dies After a Construction Site Accident

Detectives from Major Crimes Bureau continue to investigate after a man died in a construction site accident in the 1600 block of Capital One Drive. Nelson Aguilar-Salamanca, 55, of Maryland, was working at the site as a subcontractor. Around 7:30 a.m. rebar that was being hoisted in the air by a crane fell and struck Aguilar-Salamanca. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries, according to an FCPD announcement on Dec. 30.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to confirm cause of death. No other injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
