Route 28 at New Braddock Partially Closing

From this Monday, Aug. 15, through Friday, Aug. 26, the right-turn lane from Route 28 north in Centreville to New Braddock Road eastbound will be partially closed. This action is required so Colonial Pipeline may conduct upgraded maintenance on its existing pipeline that crosses Route 28 just south of New Braddock Road. The closure will affect approximately 300 feet of the 400-foot-long turn lane and will be in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the maintenance.

Car Seat Inspections, Aug. 25

Parents may get their children’s car seats inspected on Thursday, Aug. 25, from 5-8:30 p.m., outside the Sully District Police Station. It’s at 4900 Stonecroft Blvd. in Chantilly. Inspections are done on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are asked to wear a mask and adhere to social-distancing and safety precautions.
They should also install the child safety seat themselves, so the inspection can be performed. The seat will be properly re-installed, if necessary, and parents will be taught how to install the seat properly, in the future. Another car-seat inspection is scheduled for Sept. 8, at the same place and time.
