Bells of Netherlands Carillon Resume in Arlington

What’s that sound? The automatic bell feature on the Netherlands Carillon will resume since the National Park Service completed a rehabilitation of the carillon last year. Every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. visitors in Arlington Ridge Park will hear the chimes from the carillon every 15 minutes.  Additionally, every day at 12 p.m. a musical medley of the United States armed forces anthems will be played and at 6 p.m., the Dutch national anthem (Wilhelmus) and the American national anthem (Star-Spangled Banner) will be played. The carillon stands as a symbol of the friendship between the countries of the United States and the Netherlands and was upgraded to a grand carillon status last year with the addition of three new bells. Stay tuned for a schedule of weekend evening concerts at the Netherlands Carillon occurring this summer.
