Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Centreville celebrated Earth Day, April 22, by releasing more than 10,000 ladybugs throughout their schoolyard. They did so to protect the environment and help local vegetation thrive. Leading up to Earth Day, the children learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs.
