The Southwestern Youth Association-South boys’ eighth-grade all-star basketball team emerged victorious in a closely contested championship game on Sunday, March 22. The final score was 40-33 over the SYA-North all-star team. SYA-South included: Logan Aunon, Andy Balberde, Brooks Carson, Rahji Johnson, Ryan Ranslem, Mike Ripa, Ben Rupert, Andrew Shaw, Marcel Smith and Matt Whalen. SYA-South was coached by Centreville High School seniors Conor Gander, Brent Sikora and Will Balberde.
