Upon completing their reading log, children paste their names on congratulatory decals on the library window. In addition to completion they also receive a coupon book with everything from free Krispy Kreme to discounted hiking passes.

Getting children to pick up a book over the summer is no easy feat. But the Fairfax County Public Libraries aim to do just that in their Summer Reading Program running from June 19 to Sept. 5.
