Nick Ploutis of Alexandria, who operates a short-term rental out of a single-family house in the city with Airbnb, told county staff not to put restrictions on short-term rentals that are not occupied by the operator. “In the year that I have done this, I have never had an issue and it’s been really, really good for me and my family; and I just hope you guys don’t put restrictions on it that make it difficult for me to continue doing it.”
