The School Board decided to repurpose the old Patrick Henry building (white outline) as a temporary “swing space,” in order to accelerate the rebuilding of Douglas MacArthur Elementary School. Delaying the old building’s demolition until MacArthur completes will also delay the construction of new athletic fields and parking for the new Patrick Henry School, which opened in January.
